Barbaresco
The Nebbiolo grapes that produce this Barbaresco grow in a small vineyard, not much larger than a "giornata" (a local dialect name for the area two oxen could plough in a day's work). The result is precious and appealing: Barbaresco, an elegant wine, first in its intense garnet-red colour, and then in its bouquet which mixes the fruity scents of violets, roses and raspberries with the spicy cinnamon, vanilla and green pepper. But its greatest harmony is to be found in its taste: alcohol, acidity and extract blend to give Barbaresco the balance which protects it from the ravages of time.
