Barbera d'Alba
Barbera d'Alba (aptly enough, one of the few wines of female gender in Italian), is a wine of finesse, elegance and complexity, with a youthful arrogance that is attenuated with appropriate ageing. Ruby-red, with deep shades and scarlet highlights, it has a vinous, fragrant nose, with plum, mulberry and spicy overtones. A full-bodied, supple flavour, which is given an edge by an ever-present acidity that makes it fresh and inviting, this is the perfect solution for the modern wine-lover.
